How to Use Flossei

Sixty seconds, one hand, whole mouth. Here's how to get it right from day one — and what to expect in that first week.

Before Your First Use

Charge the device fully on its wireless dock before the first session. A full charge takes around three hours and the 2000mAh battery lasts 60–80 days of daily use, so you'll be charging every couple of months, not every couple of days.

Rinse a fresh floss head under warm water and click it onto the handle. It should seat firmly with no wobble.

Floss Smarter in Three Steps

Step 01

Load

Click a fresh reusable floss head onto the handle until it clicks. Firm and snug, no play in the joint.

Step 02

Position

Guide the head between two teeth and rest it gently against the gumline. Don't push — let the device find the gap.

Step 03

Activate

Press power, cycle to your mode, and move slowly tooth to tooth tracing the gumline. A full mouth takes about 60 seconds.

The single most important tip: let the vibration do the work. Almost every issue people have in week one comes from pushing too hard. Light pressure, small wiggle, wait half a second — it goes through.

Choosing Your Mode

One button cycles all four.

Mode Best for
01 — Soft Sensitive gums and teeth. The best place to start if you're new to Flossei.
02 — Standard Everyday cleaning once you've settled in — most people live here.
03 — Strong Stubborn plaque and tighter food traps between the back teeth.
04 — Burst Varies between gentle and standard to massage the teeth and gums.

Start on Soft for your first three or four sessions even if your gums feel fine. Work up from there.

Your First Week: What's Normal

Some bleeding on days 1–4 is normal if you haven't flossed regularly. It's inflammation responding to being cleaned, and it typically settles within a week. If bleeding is heavy or still happening after two weeks, see your dentist.

Tight spots will feel tight. That's true of every kind of floss — it's usually the reason people stopped flossing in the first place. Flossei doesn't magically slip through a tight contact; it just gives you control instead of forcing you to saw at it with your fingers.

It feels awkward before it feels easy. Give it three or four sessions to become automatic.

Braces, Crowns, Bridges & Implants

Generally fine, and usually gentler on this kind of dental work than string floss. Approach from a shallower angle, stay on Soft mode, and don't snap down onto the gum. Around bridges and implants, trace along the margin rather than trying to force through. If you have specific dental work or you've had recent treatment, check with your dentist first.

Using It in the Shower

Flossei is rated IPX7 with a fully sealed body — wireless charging means there's no exposed port for water to get into. Use it in the shower, over the sink, or wherever your routine already happens, then rinse the whole handle under the tap and put it back on the dock.

Caring for Your Floss Heads

  • Rinse each head under warm running water after use and let it air dry.
  • Replace a head when the thread starts to fray, feels rough going in, or stops feeling smooth.
  • Most people get several uses per head — tighter contacts and dental work wear them faster.
  • Don't share heads between people. Ever.

Caring for the Device

  • Rinse the handle under the tap after use — it's sealed, so you don't need to be careful about it.
  • Return it to the wireless dock to charge. No cable to plug into the handle itself.
  • Charge fully every couple of months even if you're not near empty; it's better for the battery.
  • Never disassemble the handle. It voids your 12-month warranty, breaks the IPX7 seal, and there's nothing serviceable inside.

Troubleshooting

The floss head keeps snapping

You're pushing too hard. Ease off, use a small side-to-side wiggle, and let the vibration carry it through. This is the single most common issue and it disappears within a few days.

The head won't click on

Check for debris in the coupling and make sure the head is aligned before pressing. It should seat with a distinct click.

It won't turn on

Leave it on the dock for a full hour before troubleshooting further — a deeply discharged battery can take a few minutes to show a charging light. Check the dock is properly powered and the handle is seated squarely on it. Still nothing? Email us; it's covered by warranty.

The battery seems to drain fast

New devices sometimes need two or three full charge cycles to settle. If it's still poor after that, contact us.
