Everything people actually ask us, answered honestly — including the bits that aren't perfect.
The Product
How is Flossei different from string floss or a water flosser?
Flossei uses a soft, reusable floss head driven by 30,000 sonic vibrations per minute. It slides between your teeth like normal floss — real contact cleaning — but without wrapping string around your fingers or contorting to reach the back molars.
A water flosser flushes debris with a jet of water. That's useful, but it sprays your mirror, needs a reservoir and a bench, and doesn't physically clean the tooth surface the way floss does. Flossei gives you the cleaning action of floss with the convenience of an electric device. Think of it as the electric toothbrush moment for flossing.
Will it work if I have tight teeth, braces, crowns or implants?
For most people, yes — with a caveat we'd rather tell you now than after you've bought it.
Tight contacts feel tight with every kind of floss. That's physics, not a product flaw, and it's usually the reason people stopped flossing in the first place. Flossei isn't a magic device that glides effortlessly through every gap. What it does is give you control and let the vibration ease the thread through, instead of you sawing at it with two fingers.
For braces, crowns, bridges and implants: start on Soft mode, approach at a shallower angle, and trace along the margin rather than forcing down. If you have specific dental work or you've had recent treatment, check with your dentist first.
Do I still need to floss daily if I use Flossei?
Yes — because Flossei is flossing. Dental professionals recommend cleaning between your teeth once a day, and Flossei is what makes that recommendation realistic. A 60-second routine is a lot easier to keep up for a year than a fiddly five-minute one.
How many cleaning modes are there and which should I use?
Four, cycled with one button. Soft for sensitive gums and first-timers — the best place to start. Standard for everyday cleaning once you've settled in; most people live here. Strong for stubborn plaque and tighter food traps between the back teeth. Burst varies between gentle and standard to massage the teeth and gums.
Start on Soft for your first few sessions even if your gums feel fine, then work up.
Is it waterproof? Can I use it in the shower?
Yes to both. Flossei is rated IPX7 with a fully sealed body — wireless charging means there's no exposed port for water to get into. Rinse the whole handle under the tap when you're done, and use it in the shower if that's where your routine lives.
A handle you can actually wash stays more hygienic than one you have to wipe around a charging port.
How long does the battery last?
The 2000mAh battery takes around three hours to charge and delivers 60–80 days of everyday use. You'll be charging it every couple of months, not every couple of days — which also means you can leave the dock at home for short trips.
Does it come with a charging dock?
Yes. Every kit ships with the flosser, a wireless charging stand and a USB-C cable. The dock is small enough to pack, but with 60–80 days of runtime you usually won't need to.
Floss Heads
If the heads are reusable, how long does one actually last?
It depends on your mouth. Tight contacts, crowns, fillings and bonding all create friction that wears a head faster. Some people get two or three uses from a head; others get considerably more.
The rule is simple: replace it when the thread starts to fray or stops feeling smooth going in. That's a hygiene and comfort judgement, not a fixed schedule.
Should I choose the 20-pack or the 50-pack?
Same heads, different quantity. The 20-pack is the low-cost way to try Flossei or cover one person for a few months. The 50-pack works out cheaper per head and suits families, heavier users, or anyone who'd rather not think about reordering for a long while.
Can I share heads with someone else in my household?
No. Floss heads are personal-use items — sharing them transfers bacteria between mouths. If two people in your home want to use Flossei, each should have their own heads, and ideally their own handle.
My floss head keeps snapping. What am I doing wrong?
Almost certainly pushing too hard — it's the single most common issue in week one and it disappears once technique clicks. Ease the pressure right off, use a small side-to-side wiggle, and pause half a second at a tight contact instead of forcing down. Let the vibration carry the thread through.
Value & Pricing
Why is Flossei cheaper than other electric flossers? Is it lower quality?
No — it's a distribution decision, not a materials decision. We sell direct: no wholesaler margin, no pharmacy shelf space, no celebrity ambassador fee baked into your receipt. We spend on the parts you feel — the motor, the 2000mAh battery, the head coupling tolerance, the IPX7 sealing — and cut everything else.
An electric flosser is a daily-use household item. It shouldn't be priced like a luxury purchase, and a high price tag isn't evidence of quality.
Why bother when string floss costs a few dollars?
Because most people don't use it. Traditional floss is cheap, but the experience is the reason so many adults skip it. Flossei isn't trying to beat floss on price per metre — it's trying to be the version you'll still be using in six months.

Where's my order?

What's your returns policy?
You have 30 days from delivery to return your Flossei Electric Flosser — even if you've opened the box and used it. Opened floss head packs can't be returned for hygiene reasons unless faulty. Full detail on Refunds & Returns.
Is there a warranty?
Yes — 12 months from delivery against manufacturing defects including motor, battery and charging faults under normal use. Accidental damage and normal wear of consumable heads aren't covered. Most claims are resolved from a short video without you posting anything back.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Email us within 2 hours of placing it and we'll do everything we can. Once a parcel is dispatched it has to be handled as a return.
Health & Safety
My gums bled the first few times. Should I stop?
Some bleeding in the first few days is common if you haven't been flossing regularly — it's inflammation responding to being cleaned, and it usually settles within a week. Stay on Soft mode and keep going.
If bleeding is heavy, painful, or still happening after two weeks, stop and see your dentist. That's a conversation for a professional, not a device.
Is Flossei a medical device?
No. Flossei is a consumer oral-care device. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent gum disease, decay or any other condition, and nothing on this site is dental or medical advice. If you have an oral health concern, see your dentist.
Can children use it?
Flossei is designed for adults. Children should only use it under adult supervision, and we'd suggest asking your dentist first — technique and gum sensitivity vary a lot at younger ages.
